Our goal and responsibility is to help each student develop an enthusiasm for learning, a respect for self and others, and the skills to become a creative independent thinker and problem solver.

Parents: Looking for ways to get your child to read during the summer? Don't want to hear the dreaded "I am bored on the 2nd day of Summer Vacation". Let Brown's Library help you solve these problems. The Library is Sponsoring a BUY ONE GET ONE FREE book fair. It will be held in the library from Tuesday, May 31st to Thursday, June 2nd. You may come anytime to shop these fabulous deals for summer reading from 7:30-3:30. We will have books for all ages including recipe and adult best sellers. 8th Graders - New Magnet School at Franklin High School

Franklin STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) will be starting the 2016-2017 school year with a cohort of 150 students. The magnet school has four strands: advanced media production, medical law, M.D. physician preceptorship, and an early entrance nursing strand developed with TTUHSC's Gayle Greve Hunt school of nursing which places our graduates at TTUHSC El Paso upon graduation and completing a Bachelor's degree in nursing just 18 months after graduating from high school. All of our programs are heavy in dual credit/advanced placement curricula and have the intent of having college ready, STEAM graduates. As with all magnet programs, it is open enrollment and transportation from their home high school is available. GT Program Nominations for 6th & 7th Grade Students

The El Paso Independent School District will begin identification procedures for the grades 6-7 gifted and talented programs. Any student in grades 6-7 may be nominated by a parent, teacher, or other concerned individual to participate in the screening process. Students will be identified by using a combination of five screening criteria: specific classroom activities; teacher observation log; parent checklist; student grades; and standardized testing measures. Please pick up an application in the Counselor Corner. If you have any questions, please talk with your child’s counselor (Ms. Sepulveda A – L or Ms. Black M – Z). We will be accepting nominations until May 1, 2016 for this school year. Thanks!!
